New Additions Join More Than 1,000 Economy Lodging Properties in the U.S. & Canada
Dallas, Texas (October 22, 2009) – Accor North America, one of the nation’s largest owner/operators of economy lodging, announces the opening of 44 Motel 6 and Studio 6 locations in the first three quarters of 2009. The latest openings include 41 Motel 6 locations and three Studio 6 properties, with a room count of 3,184. In line with Accor’s plans to aggressively grow the number of properties for its economy brands, the following locations are now open:

The 2009 additions include 50 new franchises (nine of which were previously Motel 6 corporate-owned properties), two corporate acquisitions, and one corporate new-build (the first “Phoenix” prototype), covering 21 states and one Canadian province. Accor North America currently has over 1,000 economy lodging locations in the U.S. and Canada, with roughly 35 percent of its network consisting of franchises.
